Glasgow is one of the UK’s most interesting cities, it used to be the second most important place within the days of the British Empire and one of the richest cities in the world. One can still see all the grandeur of its imposing architecture. Of course history changed the city profoundly, and it had to re-invent itself several times over changing fortunes of its business. A week seems far too short to discover this quirky city, but here are some impressions of it. Interesting parallel to Oslo: it stays light here until near midnight and is again bright again at 4 pm ! Particularly interesting was a visit to the Necropolis, a huge historic cemetery next to Glasgow cathedral. On a lighter note: the pubs are very atmospheric and very affordable !
